Golf:

• The Golden Golf and Country Club - - is one of the top ranked courses in Canada and is just a 10 minute drive from Vagabond Lodge.

On The Water:

• Kicking Horse River has some of the best Whitewater Rafting in North America. It is a wild ride!

On the Snow:

• And the Dawn Mountain Cross Country Trails feature 20km of a variety of loops for every calibre Nordic Skier. Sara Renner and other members of Canada's National Cross Country Team were at Vagabond Lodge two straight years to get ready for the 2010 Olympics.

• Golden and area has some of the best heli skiing/snowboarding terrain in the world. Purcell Heli Skiiing has operated out of Golden for 30 years and offers a variety of packages including day trips. Contact Vagabond Lodge or Purcell Heli Skiing for rates and availability.
• Great Canadian Heli Skiiing operates out of their facility only 45 minutes west of Golden and offer a number of great packages

On a Horse:

• Horse-back Trail Rides take place across the road from Vagabond Lodge with Flying W Trail Rides. They offer both 1 hour and 2 hour trips.

On your feet:

• If you are into wildlife, you can check out the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre- which is just across the Valley from the Resort. And the fish are jumping in the numerous Mountain Lakes in the area.
• If you looking for a special adventure there are a number of back-country lodges where time has stood still. Check out Purcell Lodge as well as the Lodges of Golden Alpine Holidays. And if you are looking for some great hikes in the area, go to -www.goldenhikes.ca
• Field BC and Yoho National Park is a 30 minute drive and home to some of the best Hiking in the World as well as Home to the Burgess Shale. And Glacier National Park is about a 45 minute drive West.

On a snowmobile or ATV

• Golden area is a Snowmobiling Mecca. And you can go on a number of trips with Rocky Mountain Riders from the doorsteps of Vagabond Lodge or you can rent one of their machines and go on your own.
• ATV tours.

On the Mountain:

• Kicking Horse Resort is the home to not only some of the most challenging ski/snowboard terrain anywhere, but in the summer there is downhill mountain biking, - as well as the Grizzly Bear Refuge.

Places to eat:

• Golden and area has some great eating spots. In no particular order, we recommend to our guests for upscale dinning

• Kicking Horse Grill, Whitetooth Grill, Gould's Island(new one)

• Cedar House Restaurant,

• and at the resort, Corks, Eagle's Eye

• for pub food, "Peaks Grill" next to the Gondola or Local Hero.
