what is in a Name??
The name "Vagabond Lodge" has its roots in Leysin, Switzerland a small village above the Rhone Valley. Nearly 40 years ago, Club Vagabond was opened in Leysin. Over the years, thousands of travelers from around the world found their way to Leysin and Club Vagabond, which was originally started to provide accommodation to some of the top mountain climbers in the world. Club Vagabond in Leysin closed its doors a few years ago, but we hope that Vagabond Lodge in Golden B.C. will provide the same atmosphere, solitude and happiness as the Vag in Leysin did for so many years. It just recently been sold and will be turned into Condos. It will still live!! A Great Documentary was made about Club Vagabond by Suisse Television. If you want to see it - Click here. |
